The Chan Tha Mit (Handclasp) Foundation (มูลนิธิฉันทมิตร) 2007 board meeting was held in Chiang Mai January 16th. In attendance were founder board members Manop Moonsri (Chairman), Daniel Henrich(Vice Chairman), Choosri Srimalee (Board Secretary). Absent were Charles Garcia (Treasurer) and Somchai Kumnai (Member). Also attending was Christine Henrich who is doing research on the radio drama.
During the meeting, it was approved to appoint Kelly Zbinden as foundation director.
Issues discussed included the approval of the partnership with the Haven Foundation to continue the work of the Khao Lak Community Computer Center (effective February 1, 2007. Also discussed was the Never Too Late radio project and the research currently being done by a Masters student from the USA. Funding was allocated for 2007 to continue and the management committee for the Prosocial Radio project noted that a decision had been made to draw the NTL series to an end at 105 episodes and start a number of shorter prosocial radio programs.
Also approved by the board was to investigate establishing an English and Computer Education Center near Chiang Mai University to help students move into the digital age.
